Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2025 hits Dh500 million in sales
Shoppers enjoyed discounts up to 75%, prize draws, and exclusive promotions

SHARJAH: The 35th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival concluded last Monday, leaving a remarkable impact on the emirate’s retail and tourism sectors.
The 38-day event, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), generated approximately Dh500 million in sales, marking a 25 percent increase from the previous year.
Residents and visitors across the emirate flocked to shopping malls, commercial centres, and entertainment destinations, drawn by a mix of exclusive discounts, promotions, and cultural festivities. The festival’s vibrant programme featured over 12 entertainment and artistic events, along with family-friendly activities that enriched the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr celebrations.
Surge in retail sales
This year’s edition saw unprecedented participation from leading retailers, local entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Shoppers enjoyed discounts reaching up to 75 percent across a variety of products, ranging from fashion and electronics to household essentials. International and local brands alike took part in the festival, boosting consumer spending and reinforcing Sharjah’s appeal as a premier shopping destination.
The event witnessed a surge in footfall, particularly during the first and second days of Eid Al-Fitr, as shoppers sought last-minute deals and participated in grand prize draws. Lucky winners walked away with valuable prizes, shopping vouchers, and giveaways, presented by the Sharjah Chamber in collaboration with participating shopping centres.
Entertainment and tourism boost
Beyond retail, the festival significantly contributed to Sharjah’s hospitality and tourism sectors. Hotels and leisure attractions across the emirate introduced special Ramadan-themed offers and promotional packages, further attracting visitors and enhancing the economic impact.
The Director-General of SCCI, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, highlighted the festival’s role in driving commercial activity, stating: “As a key driver of the retail sector’s growth, the Sharjah Ramadan Festival injects vibrancy into the emirate’s economic landscape each year. The event reflects the Chamber’s vision of fostering sustainable business growth and strengthening Sharjah’s position as a thriving shopping and tourism hub.”
Cultural and community engagement
While the festival is a major economic initiative, it also serves as a vital cultural and social event. General Coordinator of the festival, Jamal Saeed Bouzanjal, emphasised its role in fostering community spirit and preserving Emirati heritage. “The festival has grown beyond a commercial event – it brings families together and showcases the UAE’s rich traditions, making it a much-anticipated part of Ramadan in Sharjah,” he noted.
